I like all different genres of music. I love country, rap, rock, alternative, indie and a lot more. Throughout my high school days I was introduced to a lot of different kinds of music. Right now I’ve been listening to a lot of country music. My favorite songs are from a lot of different genres and I listen to them in different situations. These are in no certain order. They bring back so many good memories and bring me back to the good times in my life.
1.Miley Cyrus-Party in the USA
Some people think she isn’t a good singer or she’s only 16 she sucks. Well, on the weekends with my friends this song comes on a lot. It reminds me of good times with my best friends late at night. It’s not necessarily the fact that I like the lyrics it just brings back good memories.
2.Jason Aldean- She's Country
This song reminds me of riding around in the country with my cousins. We would put this song on repeat during the day in the summer and drive around with nothing to do. Elle moved to Arizona and when I listen to that I always think of her.
3.Eminem-When I'm gone
When we were listening to this song this past spring we were with one of our best friends, Sean. We dropped him off at his house and we got the news late at night that he had committed suicide. Every time I listen to the lyrics of this song it takes me back to that night. I never want to forget that night so I listen to this song a lot when I’m driving around by myself. My favorite part is “And when I'm gone, just carry on, don't mourn Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice, just know that I'm looking down on you smiling.” That reminds me of something he’d say.
4.Tracy Lawrence-If I don't make it back
I listen to this song a lot when I’m by myself. I love the lyrics and I love his voice. It’s something a lot of people can relate to. It’s just one of those songs you want to listen to really loud and take it all in.
5.Trace Adkins-You're gunna miss this
I really love this song. It’s about how you always want your life to go faster, but really you’ll want it back some day. I didn’t think I’d miss high school just like most people don’t and I miss it more than ever. This song was like a warning when I was in school and I appreciate it a lot more now.
6. Counting Crows-Mr. Jones
This song takes me to my past. I remember driving around with my dad and listening to this song over and over again. I'll never get sick of this song because it just makes me happy.
7. Josh Turner-You're Man
If I ever get married I would want a man like this. Josh Turner has a really deep voice and the way he talks about his woman is very appealing. I would want something like that.
8. Rob Thomas- This is how a heart breaks
This brings back a funny memory with my cousins. We were in South Carolina and we had just gotten down there. We were listening to this song and goofing around. I jumped on the bed and broke it. We had it on video and we would always watch it. That song would always make us laugh really hard.
9. Garth Brooks- I’ve got friends in low places
I’ve always been a fan of Garth Brooks and this is my favorite song of his. When all of my friends get together we like to sing it. I like to think I have friends in low places if my life were ever to mess up like he describes it.
10.Tim McGraw-Indian Outlaw
Last but not least this song is one of my all time favorites. Everyone I’ve ever been around knows that I love this song. They relate the song back to me and I love that.
Those were a few of the songs that remind me of the good times I’ve had in my life. I’ll never get sick of these songs, because they bring back great memories I never want to forget. Listening to music is an escape from reality for me and I love it for that

I really like how you gave a little story for most of the songs so we know why they are important to you and why you like them. This makes it feel like you truly do love these songs.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I would have changed from the essay I read was to use hyperlinks but in this essay it looks like you already changed that.
Maybe have a little more information on some of the songs to make them feel as important to the reader as they are to you.
I like your set up for the over all essay but i would try to give each song more closure. I feel like you just cut your audience off and you have more to give about the songs. Dont get me wrong the storie are good just give more description of the vision you get when you here this song come on.
ReplyDeleteI like how the essay is put together and that it flows really good.
ReplyDeleteYou maybe could add a little more detail about the songs for people that don't know the songs, then add why you like the songs so much.
